Terms of Service

Note: Details in square brackets […] will be added before the public launch.

1. Scope and provider

These terms apply to the use of the app "Dein Finanzplaner" (website and app). The provider is [first and last name or company, address as in the legal notice]. The app is in a test phase (beta). You can only use it with an invitation code.

2. What the app offers

The app teaches knowledge about money in a playful way and helps you organise your own finances (current status, contracts, savings goals and more). Use is free of charge.

3. No advice

All content, texts, calculation aids and hints are for education and general information. They are not investment advice, tax, legal or insurance advice and not a recommendation to buy, sell or cancel any particular product. Examples and rules of thumb are examples. Whether something suits you depends on your personal situation. For personal advice, contact an independent, licensed adviser. Investments involve risks and can fall in value, even to a total loss.

4. Account

  • You need an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for the accuracy of your details and for keeping your password secret.
  • You must not pass on your account to third parties. Invitations that you create yourself in the app may be passed on to people you want to invite; each invitation is valid only once and for a limited time. Invitation codes you received from the provider must not be passed on unless the provider expressly allows it.
  • You enter the financial details in the app voluntarily. Please do not enter account, card, contract or policy numbers.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the settings. All data is then deleted permanently (see the privacy policy).

5. Availability and changes

During the test phase the app is provided without a guarantee of any particular availability. Features, content and point values may change. We may end the test phase or restrict access; where possible we will inform you in good time so that you can download your data.

6. Obligations when using the app

Use the app only for its intended purpose and not unlawfully. It is not permitted to disrupt the app technically, to circumvent access restrictions (for example the invitation) or to overcome security measures.

7. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the Product Liability Act. In the case of slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation (an obligation whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you can regularly rely), liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Otherwise liability for slightly negligent breaches of duty is excluded. You are responsible for the consequences of your own financial decisions; the app does not replace advice (see section 3).

8. Copyright

Texts, graphics, characters and the design of the app are protected by copyright. You may use them for personal use. Any copying or distribution beyond that requires our consent.

9. Data protection

How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms for the future if there is a valid reason (for example new features or changes in the law). We will inform you of material changes in the app or by email; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.

11. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protection provisions of the state in which you have your habitual residence. If a provision is invalid, the remainder stays valid.
